After many scouting trips throughout northern California, we found a gem with this fruit from a coastal cool climate area. Anderson Valley and the Londer Vineyard is located the south-west side of Highway 128, west of Philo, California. This area benefits from cool coastal evening, foggy mornings, and warm days. The vineyard is located on south facing hills, with a combination of well-drained sandy loam covering an underlying clay loam. The warm days and cool foggy evenings create a perfect environment for the slow development and structure or it’s elegant flavors. This fruit was hand picked then aged 12 months in french oak.
Classic cool weather, hearty, and rich style bouquet, deep ruby color, with floral aromas mixed with generous dark cherry, raspberry, and black tea notes. The finish is medium-long in length and has a generous amount of tannin. This wine has good acid and we have found pairs well with pizza, chicken, turkey, pork, filet mignon, roasted beef, teriyaki, bbq, creamy bleu cheese and parmesan cheese. Clone: Pommard
